The Buena Scholars Program is an opportunity for students to take college classes while in high school. Buena has partnered with Cochise College to offer a selection of classes both at Buena and Cochise College. All classes are free for students who are enrolled in BHS. This program is offered to Juniors and Seniors. Sophomores may be considered if they have completed the necessary prerequisites and meet all qualifications.

There are two programs to choose from based on the student's schedule and individual needs.

• The traditional dual enrollment option where students take classes at Buena during their traditional school day. Instructors from Cochise College teach on the Buena campus following the Buena schedule. This program is best for those students who are active in after school activities and need to follow the Buena dismissal time.

• The BHS early college option is new this year for students in the Class of 2026. Students in this program will travel to Cochise College and take classes on their campus. Students in this program are limited to the classes being offered and will be released from class later than the Buena dismissal time. This program is limited to 18 students. Students in this program will leave Buena after 4th hour and must be responsible for their own transportation to Cochise and home after the classes have ended.

You can also pick up a hard copy in the CTE office located in the 1500 hallway. Return all completed applications to the CTE office as soon as possible. Spaces are limited!
