All SVUSD schools have their first day tomorrow. We are excited to have everyone back after the summer break. Just a few reminders:
Buses will be out in the community so please be cautious when driving. There are a lot of first day jitters so routes may take a little longer than normal.
Drivers, be on the lookout for all school zones and remember to slow down.
The national free meal program ended last school year so meals are no longer free for all students. Be sure to load your MySchoolBucks account so your students can buy meals if they need.
All students at Carmichael Elementary still receive free meals.
Tomorrow is an early release day. Elementary ends at 12:45pm, JCMS ends at 2:15pm and Buena ends at noon.

Join us at Buena High School on Saturday, July 30th from 9am to 11am for Colt Walkabout!
Colt Walkabout gives students and families a chance to come to BHS and find your classrooms. Staff will be on hand to answer questions and help you find your way. We hope to see all of you there!!
All school offices will be closed and there will be no Summer Academy or ESY classes on Monday, July 4th in honor the Independence Day holiday. Normal business hours and Summer Academy Classes will resume on Tuesday, July 5th. Please have a safe and happy holiday.

Sierra Vista Unified School District is offering free breakfast and lunch to all children under the age of 18 over the summer. Meals are available for pick up at Bella Vista Elementary, 801 N Lenzner Ave. Meal pick up will be by the flagpole at Bella Vista from 8:30 am- 9:30 am. This program ends on June 30th, 2022. Each bag will contain both breakfast and lunch items for children. Eligible children do not need to be present for parents to pick up meal bags. The second annual Summer Academy starts tomorrow at Bella Vista Elementary, PDS Elementary, Town & Country Elementary and Buena High. Buses will be out in the community picking up students and school zones will be in place around the 3 elementary schools.

Congratulations to the class of 2022. Buena High School Graduation is tonight at 7pm at Buena’s Loveless Stadium.
All graduating seniors will be issued one graduate parking pass and one guest parking pass for the event. Charleston Road from 4:30pm -10pm will be closed to all traffic from Colombo Avenue to Moson Road, except for those with parking passes. Additional parking will be provided at the Mall at Sierra Vista on the southeast side. SVUSD transportation will provide shuttles from the Mall at Sierra Vista, with buses running approximately every 15-20 minutes beginning at 5:00pm.

2022 BUENA GRADUATION INFORMATION
We invite you to join in the celebration of Buena High School’s 2022 Graduation on Thursday, May 26th at 7pm at Buena’s Loveless Stadium. All graduating seniors will be issued one graduate parking pass and one guest parking pass for the event. Charleston Road from 2pm -10pm will be closed to all traffic from Colombo Avenue to Moson Road, except for those with parking passes. Additional parking will be provided at the Mall at Sierra Vista on the southeast side. SVUSD transportation will provide shuttles from the Mall at Sierra Vista, with buses running approximately every 15-20 minutes beginning at 5:00pm
In order to promote the dignity and decorum of the ceremony the Buena Administration and the Senior class want you to know the following:
Bags will be checked at each gate
All guests should remain seated during the ceremony
All guests should remain in the stands until the ceremony is concluded
Please do not bring noise makers, any discovered at the gates will be confiscated. Any used during the ceremony will result in the user being removed from the facility.
Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets, if they choose to sit on the lower levels of the seating areas.
School district policies and state laws that prohibit the possession or use of tobacco, e-cigarettes, firearms, alcohol, and illegal substances will be enforced.
The main entrance to the stadium will be closed to the public. This entrance will be used only for the graduates. Guests will use the two side entrance gates.
The Arizona Rangers and Sierra Vista Police will be assisting with field security.
Handicapped Parking will be available on the west side of the student parking lot for vehicles with a guest parking pass and state issued handicapped placard or plates.
In the event of inclement weather, graduation will be moved to the Gym/Klein Center. Graduates will be provided with inclement weather tickets in case of this for seating.
Registration for our second annual Summer Academy is almost over!! Register your student for our Summer Academy by Sunday, May 8th to be sure your student can attend.
The Academy is free to all students who are currently registered in grades K-12 and live within our district boundaries. Students living outside of district boundaries are also welcome to attend with the addition of an enrollment fee.
