Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are pleased to inform you that the Shelter in Place order at Carmichael has been lifted, and the situation has been successfully resolved. We want to express our sincere appreciation to our dedicated staff and the police department for their unwavering commitment to the safety of our students and our school community.
With the Shelter in Place order lifted, students and staff are now free to leave their classrooms and continue their day as usual.
We would like to thank you for your understanding, support, and cooperation throughout this situation. The safety and well-being of our students remain our utmost priority, and we are grateful for your trust in us.
Sincerely,
Principal Jimenez
Out of an abundance of caution, Carmichael activated a “Shelter in Place” order due to Sierra Vista Police Department activity in the surrounding neighborhood. “Shelter in Place” means that teaching continues but students are kept in their classroom and not in hallways or outside. During “Shelter in Place” visitation to the school is closed to everyone but school officials and law enforcement to ensure student safety. Student and staff safety are our number one priority and the “Shelter in Place” order will be lifted as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.
