Good afternoon JCMS Families, We hope this message finds you well! JCMS is currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated parents to support our Site Council. Your involvement would greatly contribute to our school's success and growth. The Site Council: Role and Responsibilities Advisory Role: Acts in an advisory capacity to the school administrative staff. Representative Group: Solicits and incorporates input from parents, community members, and staff. Review: Examines relevant literature and data. Recommendations: Provides suggestions for school improvement. Implementation Monitoring: Oversees the implementation of new instructional designs. Local Leadership: Offers local leadership and representation in the school decision-making process. We are looking for 2 to 4 parent volunteers to join this important committee. Your participation will help shape the future of our school and ensure that our community’s voice is heard. Your time commitment is once a month for an hour. Our schools have been buzzing with activity! 🎉 Last week, Buena hosted a fantastic Open House where parents and students had the opportunity to tour the campus, meet teachers, and learn more about their classes. 🏫 Buena and JCMS also kicked off fall sports tryouts, welcoming new teams for Cross Country and Girls Volleyball (JCMS), and Swim, Girls Volleyball, Boys and Girls Golf, and Girls Flag Football at Buena. 🏅 Here's to a great season ahead! PDS and Town and Country PTOs held their first fundraisers of the year at Peter Piper Pizza, bringing families together for fun and community-building. 🍕❤️ Don’t miss out on this week’s events at your school: Huachuca Mountain: Curriculum Night is tomorrow from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Pueblo Del Sol: Curriculum Night is also tomorrow for Kindergarten through 3rd grade, and on Thursday for 4th through 6th grade. Bella Vista: Join us for the Bella Vista Showcase and Meet the Principal Night on Thursday, the 22nd, from 5 PM to 6:30 PM. Village Meadows: PTO will be fundraising at Peter Piper Pizza on the 21st. Dear SVUSD Families, We wanted to update you about several new initiatives and changes in our transportation department. As we work to improve our services, we are experiencing some growing pains with these new features, and we appreciate your understanding and patience. Student Tracking: We are excited to announce a new student tracking system that logs students on and off the bus using their new RFID student IDs. This system will allow you to track your child's bus and receive notifications if there are any issues. Currently, we are in the initial phase of this rollout and will provide updated information as the system becomes fully operational. IDs will be assigned at the school sites in the coming days, so please remind your student of the importance of keeping their ID safe and not losing it. New Routes: We have heard your concerns regarding the Palominas-BHS routes. Due to budget constraints and other factors, Palominas could not provide routes for high school students this year. As a solution, SVUSD has agreed to partially fund these routes. We prioritized student transportation to relieve the burden on parents. Please note that we do not receive State funding for these routes. Routing Software: We recently implemented new routing software, which inadvertently assigned too many students to certain routes. We are actively working to fix these issues and assure you they will be resolved promptly. Drivers have been instructed not to operate a route if the bus is over capacity. In such cases, an overflow bus will be dispatched to pick up additional students, which may cause delays. We are reviewing and adjusting routes, so your student may have a new route in the future. Transportation Changes: To streamline communication, please note that any transportation changes made at your student's school after 12 PM will not be effective until the second business day. We are committed to providing safe and efficient transportation for all students and thank you for your cooperation and understanding during this transition period.
