Today was a buzz of words at the Rothery Education Center as 13 brilliant contestants from our six elementary schools and Joyce Clark Middle School showcased their spelling prowess in the district-wide spelling bee!
Representing each elementary school and JCMS, the participants spelled their hearts out, showcasing true dedication and linguistic skills. After intense rounds of challenging words, we're thrilled to announce the SVUSD Spelling Bee Champion – Vivian M. a 5th grader from Huachuca Mountain Elementary School! 🌟🏅
Marshall F. an 8th grader from JCMS secured an impressive second place, earning the honor of representing our district at the Cochise County Spelling Bee for 7th and 8th graders. 🌍📘

For BHS the stops at Tacoma & Palo Verde, Tacoma & Cholla and Coronado & Carmelita will be on time, with the stops on Ft. Huachuca having a 30 minute delay, 30 minutes for JCMS and 30 minutes for Town And Country. Due to our area forecast for ice and snow overnight all Sierra Vista Unified School District schools will have a delayed start time of two hours. Buena will begin at 9:20am, JCMS at 11am and elementary schools at 10am. Bus times will be pushed back 2 hours on all routes and stops. All release times will remain as a normal school day. Breakfast will still be available but only cereal, lunch will be served as normal. Buena will not have zero hour. Thank you.
