Aryanna Garcia was chosen as our Female Athlete of the Week! Aryanna has had outstanding performances on the field in her games this week. In crucial matchups against Catalina Foothills, Cienaga, and Nogales, she showcased her skills with remarkable consistency. Aryanna's offensive contributions were crucial as she hit a double and tallied 2 RBIs against Catalina Foothills, followed by a double, a single, and another RBI in the game against Cienaga. Against Nogales, Aryanna continued her impressive performance, delivering 2 RBIs alongside a double and a single. Aryanna's contributions extend beyond offense; she consistently excels in her defensive duties, displaying exceptional skill and reliability throughout the season. As a leader, Aryanna leads by example, demonstrating kindness, sportsmanship, and a winning attitude towards teammates and opponents alike. We're thrilled to announce that Buena DECA displayed exceptional entrepreneurial talent at the first-ever Youth Moonshot Pitch Competition held at the Sierra Vista Library on April 3rd, 2024!
👏 Sponsored by Cochise College Small Business Development Center, City of Sierra Vista, Sierra Vista Area Chamber of Commerce, SSVEC, and local businesses, the event distributed over $1250 in cash and prizes to our talented young competitors.🌟 Twenty-two students from Buena DECA showcased their creativity and business acumen, impressing judges with innovative ideas.🥇 Top honors went to George M and Jan R, who secured first place with their compelling business concept, "BEST Driving School," tailored for Sierra Vista, earning a cash prize of $350!🥉 John C claimed third place with his innovative idea, "Simple Fixes," winning a prize of $150.🎉
Building on their success, three DECA teams advanced to the Sierra Vista Moonshot competition on April 5th, each receiving entrepreneurship packages valued at $3500!🌟 Special recognition goes to Trinity J for her exceptional presentation skills and innovative ideas, highlighted by the judges.

This morning, Buena High School’s School Resource Officer called for police assistance with a single student issue. SV Police Department is at Buena assisting, there is no threat or danger to Buena students or staff. Thank you to our staff and SVPD for their quick response.
