🌟 Huachuca Mountain Leadership Day 🌟
Friday was Leadership Day at Huachuca Mountain, and it was truly inspiring to see students from Pueblo Del Sol, Town and Country, Huachuca Mountain, Joyce Clark Middle School, and Buena High School come together for an afternoon filled with teamwork and positive peer relations!
Led by Principal Perez and Elson, along with Mrs. Galbraith and Mrs. Neitring, our student council members embarked on four different activities aimed at building strong bonds and leadership skills. From problem-solving challenges to collaborative projects, every moment was filled with growth and camaraderie.
After an afternoon of hard work, everyone gathered for a delicious dinner together, followed by an exciting kickball game to end the evening on a high note. We couldn't be prouder of our dedicated student councils for their commitment to leadership and unity!

Ryan was selected this week because of his outstanding work on the tennis team this season. He has made the State Tournament for doubles and will also be competing for Buena in their match this week. Showing his dedication for the sport, he has competed as Buena's #2 on Varsity throughout the course of the season and has done very well, posting a record of 7-3 in singles. Congratulations to Ryan and we wish you the best of luck in your upcoming matches!
Throughout the course of this year's tennis season, Natalie has consistently shown that she can do it all on the court. Playing as Buena's #1 Varsity player, she led her team to victory during the match against Walden Grove last week. Beating her opponent 6-1, 6-1 Natalie truly showed her fearlessness on the court. Congratulations Natalie and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for you!

🔬 Exciting day in AP Biology at Buena last week! 🧬 Students delved into the world of genetics by performing a Gel Electrophoresis lab. But this wasn't just any lab—it was a real-world application investigating Huntington’s disease.
Before diving into the experiment, students explored the intricate causes of Huntington’s disease and its inheritance patterns. Using Mendelian Genetics, they predicted the likelihood of the disease being passed on to future generations.
Then came the moment of truth: running DNA samples from a family with a history of Huntington’s disease. With bated breath, students analyzed the results to determine if any of the children had inherited the disease. Not only that, they could even predict when symptoms might start to manifest.
