🎄✨ A Special Day of Holiday Magic at Town and Country! 🌟🍭
Last week the 5th and 2nd-grade classes at Town and Country experienced a magical treat, thanks to the generosity and creativity of the Sierra Vista Education Foundation and the talented students at Buena High School!
The Education Foundation sponsored all the ingredients for the gingerbread Christmas trees, while the auto class at Buena High School crafted unique cookie cutters, adding a touch of innovation to the festivities.
The culinary classes at Buena High School took the holiday spirit a step further by baking a gingerbread tree for each student. 🍪🎅 The high school students then brought the festive cheer to Town and Country, joining forces with the elementary students to decorate the gingerbread trees.
It was a sight to behold as each Roadrunner received their own decorating supplies, including frosting, skittles, gumdrops, marshmallows, candy canes, and more! 🍬🎨 The creativity and joy were palpable as the students unleashed their imagination on the gingerbread canvases.
But that's not all! The 5th graders had an extra special task — they had to write an essay to choose between a real or a fake tree. What a wonderful way to integrate learning and decision-making into the holiday festivities!
A heartfelt thank you to all the incredible students and teachers at Buena High School for making this day extra special for the Roadrunners. 🙌🎁 And a special shoutout to the Sierra Vista Education Foundation for making this delightful experience possible! 🌈✨ #HolidayMagic #GingerbreadDecorating #CommunitySpirit #GratitudePost 🎅🏫

Game Day🍿🍿
Dear Buena High School Families,
I am writing to provide you with an update on the evacuation that occurred earlier today during the second hour.
During that time, our staff reported the presence of smoke in a few classrooms located in the 1100 hallway. Swift action was taken to ensure the safety of our students, and those classrooms were immediately evacuated. Upon further inspection by our administration, it was decided that the most prudent course of action was to evacuate all students to the football field and promptly call the fire department.
During this time, our students and staff successfully evacuated the building, and the fire department promptly arrived on the scene. Rigorous tests were conducted to assess potential heat signatures both within the building and on the roof. Additionally, air quality tests were carried out to ascertain the safety of the air in and around the premises.
After a comprehensive search and testing process, it was determined that the source of the smoke and odor was an air handler motor that had overheated. The fire department gave the all-clear, and students were allowed to reenter the building once it was deemed safe. Our maintenance staff will continue to address the issue with the air handler to prevent any future occurrences.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of our staff and students for their cooperation and patience during the evacuation. Your calm and collected response greatly contributed to a swift and organized evacuation process. During this time we demonstrated our ability to follow the PBIS standards we uphold of safety, respect and responsibility.
Furthermore, I extend my heartfelt thanks to the Sierra Vista Fire and Medical Services, Sierra Vista Police Department, and Cochise County Sheriff's officers for their quick and efficient action in ensuring the safety of all our students and staff. Their professionalism and dedication to the well-being of our school community are truly commendable.
Please rest assured that the safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Sincerely,
Nicole Young

Buena High School
The Fire Department has given the all clear and students are returning to the school at this time. The fire department checked for heat signatures as well as air quality and there is no issue at this time. Out of an abundance of caution the 1100 hallway will be closed for the day, all 1100 classes will have another classroom for the day. Thank you to staff, law enforcement and the fire department for keeping all of us safe.
Good Morning Parents,
Out of abundance of caution all students have been evacuated to the football field due the reports of smoke in the hallway. The fire department is on scene and investigating the report. At this time the school is closed to all traffic except for emergency personal. All students are on the football field, no students are in danger. At this time all students are remaining on the field, no student will be signed out to parents. Once the all clear is given by the fire department students will be allowed back into the building and classes will resume.
Thank you
Good Morning Buena Families,
