🚀🌟 Buena DECA shines at the Youth Moonshot Pitch Competition and the Sierra Vista Moonshot Competition! 🌟🚀
We're thrilled to announce that Buena DECA displayed exceptional entrepreneurial talent at the first-ever Youth Moonshot Pitch Competition held at the Sierra Vista Library on April 3rd, 2024!
👏 Sponsored by Cochise College Small Business Development Center, City of Sierra Vista, Sierra Vista Area Chamber of Commerce, SSVEC, and local businesses, the event distributed over $1250 in cash and prizes to our talented young competitors.🌟 Twenty-two students from Buena DECA showcased their creativity and business acumen, impressing judges with innovative ideas.🥇 Top honors went to George M and Jan R, who secured first place with their compelling business concept, "BEST Driving School," tailored for Sierra Vista, earning a cash prize of $350!🥉 John C claimed third place with his innovative idea, "Simple Fixes," winning a prize of $150.🎉
Building on their success, three DECA teams advanced to the Sierra Vista Moonshot competition on April 5th, each receiving entrepreneurship packages valued at $3500!🌟 Special recognition goes to Trinity J for her exceptional presentation skills and innovative ideas, highlighted by the judges.

This morning, Buena High School’s School Resource Officer called for police assistance with a single student issue. SV Police Department is at Buena assisting, there is no threat or danger to Buena students or staff. Thank you to our staff and SVPD for their quick response.

Shawn Bookman was chosen as our Male Athlete of the Week! Shawn had an outstanding performance at the Lancer Invitational last Saturday. Placing 4th in discus and securing 12th in shot put and javelin. His hard work both in and out of practice is evident, making him a valuable asset to the team. Shawn's determination and consistent efforts serve as an inspiration to his teammates and coaches alike. Congratulations, Shawn, and goodluck with the rest of your season!
Mallory Hooper was chosen as our Female Athlete of the Week! Mallory's unwavering dedication and hard work have been evident throughout the season. She is a supportive teammate and inspiring leader, Mallory encourages and uplifts those around her both on and off the court. Her talent in tennis is undeniable, as she demonstrated by dominating her competition this week.
