We are writing to inform you about an activity occurring on the Cochise College campus today that may impact our community. Cochise College Law Enforcement classes are conducting "ambush drills" on their campus today. As a result, students and staff at Buena High School, due to our proximity, may hear simulated gunfire from these drills. Please be assured that there is no threat to Buena High School, our students, or staff. These drills are part of training exercises conducted by Cochise College for their law enforcement program, and they are being conducted with the utmost safety precautions in place. We understand that hearing gunfire, even simulated, can be concerning. However, we want to reassure you that these drills are being conducted in a controlled environment and are essential for preparing future law enforcement professionals. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Mason Gordon was selected as this week’s Male athlete of the week! Over the season he showed how much of a hardworking and dedicated athlete he is. Mason was one of two Buena players to make 1st team all region. He also leads the team in assists and is one of the top all round players on his team. Congratulations Mason, and thank you for everything you did for Buena basketball! Kamaile Kerr is this week's Female athlete of the week. Throughout the winter sports season, Kamaile served as the goalie for our Girls Soccer Team, demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication. She is second in the state for most saves with 211 for the season. Even though this was her first year playing soccer in highschool she was a valuable asset to the team. Kamaile sets a great example with her competitive spirit, all while maintaining respect both on and off the field. As she transitions into track season, where she will be competing in Javelin throwing, we extend our best wishes to her.

This morning, Buena High School staff had to call 911 for a student experiencing a medical emergency on a bus. EMS are at Buena and the student’s parents have been notified. There was no threat or danger to Buena. Thank you to our staff and EMS for their care and quick response.
