Letter Grades

The Arizona Department of Education (ADE) has released the annual letter grades for Arizona schools, and Sierra Vista Unified School District (SVUSD) is thrilled to announce that all six of our elementary schools have earned an 'A' rating. This achievement reflects the district’s dedication to student success and continued growth, guided by our mission of "Achieving Excellence Together" and "Empowering You." As a district, we have also been awarded an ‘A’ rating.

This year, Carmichael Elementary, Town & Country, and Pueblo del Sol (PDS) Elementary improved their ratings from a 'B' to an 'A,' joining Village Meadows, Bella Vista, and Huachuca Mountain, which have successfully maintained their 'A' ratings for consecutive years. Carmichael Elementary's success story is especially inspiring, having grown from a 'D' rating just four years ago to now proudly earning an 'A.'

"We are incredibly proud of the hard work and commitment of our students, staff, and families in achieving these results. It is a true testament to what we can accomplish together," said Dr. Eric Holmes, Superintendent of SVUSD. "Our students are the heart of our schools, and we will always do everything we can to support every student on their path to success."

Buena High School also demonstrated significant growth within its 'B' rating, with a 10-point improvement. We are actively working toward achieving an 'A' rating for Buena and building on this momentum.

While Joyce Clark Middle School (JCMS) received a 'D' rating, we are implementing critical support systems to address this and move forward. Through our partnership with the University of Virginia’s Partnership for Leaders in Education, JCMS has implemented a comprehensive plan focusing on high-quality, Tier 1 instruction and fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture for both staff and students. In the first months of the 2024 school year, the school has already reduced discipline incidents by 58% and improved attendance rates, reflecting the positive steps taken.

As a district, we are committed to ongoing growth and achievement for every student. Together with families, staff, and community partners, we will continue building a learning environment where every student thrives.
