October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Bullying can impact a studentβs education, physical, emotional health, and their safety and well-being.
Together we can create communities that are kinder, more inclusive and accepting for all students. In support of National Bully Prevention Month we are encouraging all SVUSD students and staff to wear orange on October 18th to show unity against bullying.

This morning JCMS Administration issued a lockdown order after two reports were phoned into Sierra Vista Police of an active shooter on campus. Numerous police officers responded immediately, and after a thorough investigation, the police determined that this was a false alarm, based on rumors shared on social media. As stated in our previous communication, we were notified of a threat yesterday, and referred it immediately to the Sierra Vista Police Department, who investigated and found no credible threat. There will be a continued heightened police presence around Joyce Clark Middle School today. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we ensure the safety and security of our school for our students and staff.

Good evening JCMS Families,
Today we were informed of a potential threat to the school made on social media by an individual who is not a student in our building. The threat was immediately referred to the Sierra Vista Police Department who have investigated the matter and found no evidence of a credible threat. In our efforts to be transparent we wanted to share with our families that there will be heightened police presence as an extra precaution. We thank our Coyotes for coming forward and living up to the Code: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible.
Sincerely,
Kathryn Wright
JCMS Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians,
We want to inform you that, due to adverse weather conditions and the presence of lightning in a 10 mile area, we will be implementing a delayed dismissal procedure today at JCMS. The safety of our students is of paramount importance, and we are taking these precautions to ensure their well-being.
Unfortunately, due to the weather half of our buses are delayed so we encourage parents to come to the office and pick up your students. Please feel free to call for more information. If your student walks or bikes home please contact the school, or you are welcome to pick them up also.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation during these weather-related delays. Your child's safety is our top priority, and we are committed to making informed decisions that ensure their well-being.
Thank you for your consideration and support.
Sincerely,
Kathryn Wright
Joyce Clark Middle School
