Baseball and Softball Games on Tuesday May 2nd, have a slight time change due to limited field space. Games will be at Carpenter MS, with Softball starting at 3:15, immediately followed by Baseball.
This afternoon at JCMS a student came to the office and informed staff that another student was trying to sell bullets to them. That student was immediately brought to the office and it was discovered they were carrying 10 live ammunition bullets on them. The Sierra Vista Police Department was called and is on scene assisting with the situation. The student did not have any weapons on them and was not making any threats. The student will face discipline in line with district policy. Thank you to JCMS staff and SVPD for their quick action and a special thank you to the JCMS student for speaking up. We have amazing students at JCMS who follow our Coyote Code and help keep everyone safe.

An ambulance had to be called to Joyce Clark Middle School for a student experiencing a medical emergency this afternoon. That student's parents have been notified . There is no threat or danger to JCMS.
The Arizona Academic Standards Assessment (AASA) tests all grades will be taking Writing on Wednesday 4/5, Reading on 4/6 and Math on 4/7. It would help tremendously if you could share with your child the importance of doing their best on all their assessments. Here are some more ways you can help ensure your student’s success on these tests.
The night before each test:
• Have them charge their Chromebook.
• Ensure they get a good night’s sleep.
The day of each test:
• Ensure they eat breakfast
• Be on time to school.

Registration for the 3rd annual Summer Academy starts today!!! The Summer Academy is free to all students who are currently enrolled in Kinder-12th grade, no matter what school you attend. The Academy is Monday through Friday beginning on June 5th and ending July 14 . Students will be able to take up to four courses of their choosing. Remediation in one or both English Language Arts and Math is offered for K-8th and credit recovery for high school student in ELA, Math, Health, Future Focus, Tech Foundation and Social Studies. We also offer a wide variety of Enrichment class so students can explore and have some fun over the summer.

Tomorrow, Tuesday March 28th, we will begin 8th grade AzSci Science testing. Make sure your students get plenty of rest and have a fully charged Chromebook.
The JCMS Obstacle Fun Run is this Saturday, March 25 from 9-11 a.m. This is a great activity for the whole family. It covers approximately 2 miles with fun and challenging obstacles along the route. Heats begin at 9, 9:30, 10 and 10:30 a.m. There will be live music, food truck sales, and prizes for the winners of each heat! Registration is $10 for each person or $40 for a family of 4+ people.
