This Friday, October 6th is a half day at all SVUSD schools. Please note that all students will be released by the half day schedule. Buena High School at 10:30 am, all elementary schools at 11:15 am, and Joyce Clark Middle School at 12:30 pm. We are wishing all students and families a wonderful fall break October 9th through 13th!
Second grade Bolts were completely mesmerized by dinosaurs last week thanks to the amazing staff at the Henry F. Hauser Museum. The students had the opportunity to learn about dinosaur fossils found here in Cochise County. They got to be paleontology artists by creating their very own dino. Lots of stories were read and students roamed the room like the dinosaurs did millions of years ago. Thank you so much to the City of Sierra Vista Library and the Henry F. Hauser Museum for a wonderful educational experience!

Thank you for your ongoing support.
Parents and guardians, our transportation department made some adjustments to their route stops and times to better serve our student’s needs. The updated route for Huachuca Mountain Elementary is SV 12. Please visit our website https://www.svusd68.org/page/transportation for detailed information. At this time, we are going to have a delayed dismissal due to lightning. Students will be held until lightning is no longer within a 10 mile range. This includes walkers, bikers, car loop and bus riders. For today's storm alert, I ask that you wait in your vehicle and allow time for dismissal to proceed normally. Arizona storms typically blow through quickly. When such storms occur, delaying dismissal is required by policy. Coming to the office to pick up your child creates a situation that is counter to the safe environment we are trying to create. Thank you for your consideration.
We have received the all clear for the weather delay. Buses have departed and walkers have been released. Thank you for your patience.

Here's the final results of the PTO Fun Run Fundraiser! Thanks to all who participated and donated to our PTO!
FUN at the Fun Run, that was today's motto for the Lightning Bolts. All students, teachers and volunteers were excited about running the courses and getting painted or doing the painting. The helpers from MYBooster did a fantastic job MCing the event and getting everyone ready for the event during the past week. The PTO fundraiser has raised so far over $9,000 and counting. Thank you Huachuca Mountain PTO and all volunteers!

Here's today's PTO Fun Run Fundraiser Challenge!
Friday mornings are always fun at Huachuca Mountain! Coach Mac joins students in the cafeteria for a morning exercise with line dancing before school starts. Last Friday was special because the Lighting Bolts had their first “Storming of the Halls”. Students in grades K-3, with the most PBIS points earned and best citizenship in their classroom, got the opportunity to lead the “storm” through the halls lined with 4th - 6th grade students. Fourth through sixth grade did an amazing job cheering the Bolt Stars! Go Bolts!
