🌟 STEM Spotlight in 2nd Grade! 🌟

Our 2nd graders rolled up their sleeves today and became young geologists as they explored how scientists evaluate the Earth by taking core samples! 🧪🌎

Students investigated rock layers, practiced careful observation, and built their own “landscape models” to extract a core sample—just like real engineers and scientists do. Their excitement was through the roof as they discovered what each layer of soil can tell us about the land!

Hands-on learning + curious minds = incredible STEM moments at Town & Country! 💛💙

Our 4th graders were hard at work in their math centers today, using Rally Coach to strengthen their skills with multiplying two-digit numbers! 🎉

Students teamed up to solve problems using place value and tens, taking turns coaching, explaining their thinking, and checking each other’s work. This collaborative strategy not only boosts math fluency—it builds confidence, communication, and teamwork.

We love seeing our Roadrunners support one another while tackling challenging concepts. Way to go, 4th grade! ✨💛📚

🌟 Learning Respect, the T&C Way! 🌟

Our amazing school counselor led an engaging Second Step lesson on Respecting Others this week! 💬✨

Students explored what respect looks and sounds like through fun Kagan structures and collaborative learning games — sharing, discussing, and reflecting together on how to show respect in different situations.

From Four Corners discussions on feeling respected, to Think–Pair–Share conversations about tone and kindness, and Fan–Pick card prompts encouraging teamwork and empathy — every student had a voice in building a more respectful classroom community. 💭🤝

By the end of the lesson, students could answer:

✅ How do I show respect for others’ ideas and differences?
✅ What does respectful communication look like?
✅ Why does respect make our school a better place?

We are so proud of our Roadrunners for learning how to listen, include, and care for one another!

Workshop Wednesday Spotlight!

Our teachers continue to learn, share, and grow together. Last week, Ms. Russell shared her Read the Room activity and her math fluency stations that promote movement, collaboration, and student engagement. Mrs. Jones also shared her new skills with Canva’s AI features to create standard-based centers that are purposeful and fun for students.

Way to go, team! We love seeing creative ideas spread across classrooms and support strong instruction for all of our Roadrunners.

From collaborative discussions to interactive team challenges (yes… including acting out grouping styles!), our teachers modeled the same engagement, creativity, and joy we want to see in our students.
When teachers learn together, students win.
And at Town & Country, we never stop growing! 💡📚💙

🎃 Our Roadrunners had a spooktacular time reviewing past content through Halloween-themed learning centers!

👻 Spooky Sorts: Students used flashlights to find hidden words and sort them into the correct topics.
🧙‍♀️ Halloween Fun: With their “witch fingers,” students read and responded to festive Halloween stories.
🕸️ Syllable Sort: Students practiced phonics by sorting Halloween-themed words into 1, 2, or 3 syllables.

It was a frightfully fun way to learn and reinforce key skills! 🧡🕯️
